SINnamon rolls

Alright here’s the deal, these suckers are INSANELY delicious and should 100000% be illegal because they are FULL of butter and sugar and are in no way good for you… but THEY ARE TOO GOOD NOT TO SHARE.

My family has been making these for decades… like my grandma made these before I was even born, then my mom made them for me my whole childhood and i became absolutely ADDICTED. They’re basically a biscuit plus cinnamon roll plus sticky bun. Traditionally, these are made with Bisquick biscuit mix and that’s the recipe I’m going to put here, but you could substitute in your favorite biscuit recipe if you wanted to.

So first things first, get a stick of butter (aka 8Tbsp or 4 oz. it’s all the same) out of the fridge and let it soften, you’re going to want it to be soft enough to spread on your dough when you roll it out. Then, in a pot on the stove, melt 4T of butter, and add in 1 c. brown sugar and 2T milk and 1T corn syrup. Mix this all together until it’s all pretty looking and pour it into the bottom of an 8x8 inch pan.

Then, you gotta make your biscuit dough. Just follow the direction on the good ol’ box of Bisquick (It’s like 2 1/4 c. mix to 2/3 c. milk) and make your biscuit dough. It should be a little wet and sticky, and that’s ok.

Flour a flat surface to roll out your dough and roll it into a rectangle about 1/4” thick. Spread your butter out evenly over all of the dough. Then take brown sugar, and cover all of the butter with it, like cover it completely….like this:

Then add a little granulated sugar as well for good measure. Next sprinkle some cinnamon on there (and any other yummy spices you want, I put some ground ginger and cloves in this batch to make them taste a little more like the holidays….WHAT I was feeling the holiday spirit! don’t judge me).

Roll it up nice and tight along the wide end of the rectangle, then cut them into 2” pieces. Place these pieces into the pan over the yummy caramel sauce-y stuff. like this:

Bake them in the oven at 350ºF for about 20-30 minutes or until the tops of the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and the gooey caramel stuff is bubblin’ up the sides.

Once they’re done, take them out of the oven and let them cool a little bit. DONT EAT THEM RIGHT WHEN THEY COME OUT OF THE OVEN!! I’ve done this because I was too impatient and the caramel stuff on the bottom is like molten lava and WILL destroy your mouth.

Finally, Enjoy the delicious and absolutely sinful SINnamon rolls, and the sugar coma that will definitely follow. Also another word to the wise, I’d suggest NOT eating these the day after thanksgiving. You’re going to be full enough and these will just extend the food coma from the day before into a week long coma…your family will start to worry and you don’t want to end up in the coma ward in a hospital…especially in the states…that shit would be SO EXPENSIVE.
